Home Karaoke Machines and Karaoke Systems

There are several kinds of different karaoke machines and more sophisticated karaoke systems for use in the home though which to get does depend on what you want to use it for. Is it for a party used in a room full of noisy party people? Is it for your children to play with? Is it just for you to practice on your own or will you want to take it out with you to other places?

Karaoke machines are mainly all-in-one units which have built in CDG-DVD players, speakers, together with microphone inputs. The smaller machines are really good presents for children or more beefy ones for not yet grown up adults and for livening up a party. A home karaoke system built up out of components is the best choice if you already have a computer or good home stereo system and don’t need a portable unit. Firstly you will need a Karaoke Disc Player, which will play CD+G and DVD karaoke discs. It will have microphone inputs and will connect to your amp like your CD player does. (Ideally your amp should have at least a 200 watt output.). You also need good heavy-duty speakers – surround sound satellite speakers are not Ok as they cannot handle live vocals. As well as this you will need microphones, a monitor (your colour TV) and your Karaoke discs.

You and your family and party guests will then be good to go. You might want to video performances for later embarrassment – or not!
